How Korey Foreman’s trip to Georgia sets the stage for him to commit to LSU football

Five-star defensive end Korey Foreman is one of LSU football’s top 2021 recruiting targets.
2021 five-star defensive end Korey Foreman and five-star defensive tackle Maason Smith are two of LSU football‘s top recruiting targets.
The duo recently took a trip together (along with several other recruits) to Athens to check out the Georgia Bulldogs.
On first glance, it would seem like the duo’s trip to Athens is bad for LSU’s chances to land the elite pair of defensive linemen.
But I think the trip to Georgia could actually help LSU land the five-star duo.
A trip to Athens could set the stage for elite defensive linemen to commit to LSU football
Foreman and Smith going to Athens wasn’t just about seeing Georgia. It was about the duo strengthing their already strong friendship.
The two defensive linemen have made it clear over the last several months that they’d love to play together in college.
After the trip together to Georgia, it appears that their desire to play together is as strong as ever.
“I didn’t want to leave Georgia. The only reason was because I was with Maason. I just like hanging out with the dude. He’s just like me and I’m just like him,” said Foreman to Rivals after his Georgia trip.
The friendship between Foreman and Smith is genuine. And it’s the reason the Tigers are a legitimate threat to land Foreman.
Foreman’s trip to Georgia with Smith just solidified that the duo wants to play together in college. It didn’t matter that they were in Athens. They could’ve been on any campus in the nation and the result would’ve been the same.
LSU is still considered the favorite to land Smith, a Louisiana native. It would be surprising to see him end up at another program. That means if the two are going to play together in college, it will almost certainly have to be at LSU.
If the Tigers are able to get Foreman to Baton Rouge with Smith, it could result in LSU surging to the top of the list for Foreman.
Foreman told Rivals he’s planning on a trip to LSU, which means we could see things change drastically in this intense recruitment in the not-so-distant future.
