LSU football is pursuing a 2022 four-star defensive tackle from New Orleans.

LSU football typically doesn’t have to fight too hard for elite recruits from New Orleans, but it looks like they’ll have a battle on their hands for a 2022 four-star Big Easy native.

Tygee Hill, 6-foot-2/280 lbs from New Orleans (Edna Karr), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 15 defensive tackle in the nation.

Hill has offers from most of the major Power-5 programs (sans Clemson), so he can pretty much choose wherever he wants to play in college.

If you’re assuming Hill will end up in Baton Rouge, you may be assuming wrong. It doesn’t appear that LSU is a lock to land the talented defensive lineman.

LSU football has a battle on its hands for Tygee Hill

Hill recently discussed his recruitment with Rivals and he mentioned four schools specifically that have his eye.

LSU was not one of those schools

Hill mentioned Auburn, Georgia, Miami, and Michigan State when asked directly by Rivals about his recruitment.

There’s still a long way to go in Hill’s recruitment, so it’s very possible that LSU ends up becoming a major factor in his recruitment.

In fact, I’d almost be surprised if the Tigers didn’t end up being one of Hill’s finalists.

Ed Orgeron recruits players from Louisana incredibly well. Coach O is also quite good when it comes to recruiting defensive linemen (Orgeron develops defensive linemen unlike anyone in the nation), which is why I think LSU will likely be a team to beat for Hill.

dark. Next. The reason LSU was able to land four-star DB

Once visits resume, and Hill gets to officially visit LSU, this could be a battle that ends quickly.
