Former LSU football running back Leonard Fournette has a new home in the NFL.

Former LSU football running back Leonard Fournette was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars late last month despite setting a new career high in 2019 with 1,152 rushing yards.

Fournette, however, wasn’t out of a job long. The former Tigers standout signed a one year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 6.

The New Orleans native will be teammates with legendary quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.

And let’s just say Fournette wasn’t afraid to throw some shade at some of his former teammates after signing with the Bucs.

Leonard Fournette throws shade at his former quarterbacks

After signing with the Buccaneers, Fournette made it known he was thrilled to have Brady as his quarterback, slamming his former teammates in the process.

“For the first time in my life, I really have a quarterback,” said Fournette (via ESPN).

So who are the quarterbacks that Fournette basically threw under the bus?

Well, there’s Blake Bortles, who started 28 games for the Jaguars from 2017-2018. Then there’s Cody Kessler, who started four games for Jacksonville in 2018.

In 2019, Gardner Minshew started 12 games for the Jaguars, while Nick Foles started four games for Jacksonville.

Oddly enough, Foles is 1-0 against Brady in Super Bowls (Foles and the Eagles beat Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl LII).

Of course, I don’t think anyone is trading Foles for Brady — even if Brady is 43 years old.

Still, Fournette could’ve been a bit kinder to his former teammates. I can understand the Bortles slander, but Minshew played well out of nowhere last season and Foles…..well at least he has a Super Bowl ring.
