LSU football’s 2021 recruiting class could be getting a big boost in the near future.

LSU football could be the landing spot for one of the top uncommitted 2021 recruits in the nation.

Shea Dixon, an analyst who covers the Tigers for 247Sports, made a “Crystal Ball prediction” this week for 2021 five-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh. Dixon has LSU landing the dominant offensive tackle.

The prediction comes after Leigh visited Baton Rouge this past weekend with four-star Tigers quarterback commit Garrett Nussmeier and other top LSU recruiting targets.

“It was a perfect weekend…I feel like we maximized our time together. We enjoyed getting to know all the families and talking about the what ifs,” said Leigh’s mom after the visit to 247Sports recruiting director Steve Wiltfong.

It sounds like the weekend visit was so successful that Dixon believes the Tigers can parlay it into a commitment from Leigh.

And if they get a commitment from Leigh, it’s certainly possible that commitments from other top targets like five-star defensive tackle Maason Smith could follow.

Landing Leigh would be a huge get for LSU football

Leigh, 6-foot-5/270 lbs from Fairfax, VA (Robinson Secondary), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 4 offensive tackle in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 11 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.

247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons describes Leigh as a “nasty, blue collar, effort player”.

Simmons also notes that Leigh “has the upside to be a multi-year impact Power Five starter with the potential to develop into a mid to early round draft pick”.
