LSU football made a strong impression on 2021 five-star defensive end Korey Foreman.

LSU football is one of the teams to beat for 2021 five-star defensive end Korey Foreman, the nation’s No. 1 recruit.

In fact, I think the Tigers are probably THE team to beat for Foreman, thanks to his existing relationships with LSU recruiting target Maason Smith (five-star defensive tackle), Tigers commit Raesjon Davis, and 2020 signee Elias Ricks (Davis and Ricks, like Foreman, are California natives).

But even though LSU might be the team to beat for Foreman, there’s still a lot of work to be done.

And that was evident from an interview that Foreman’s father recently did with Rivals.

Foreman needs to see more of LSU football

Kevin Foreman, the father of the top-rated recruit in the nation, recently spoke to Rivals about his son’s trip to Baton Rouge this past weekend.

There’s no doubt that Foreman enjoyed the trip. The five-star recruit was able to see LSU’s campus for the first time, which is huge because it’s possible that a commitment will be made without an official visit actually happening (the NCAA still hasn’t decided when recruiting visits will be allowed to resume).

A decision without an official visit, however, wouldn’t be a good scenario for LSU. Not that I think it hinders the Tigers’ ability to land Foreman, but it would certainly make the race between LSU and Georgia (and others, like USC) a bit tighter.

An official visit could seal the deal. And it’s something that Foreman’s father kind of alluded to during his interview.

“He still didn’t get to see all of LSU. We didn’t get to see that Odell Beckham locker room and all those other crazy, amazing things that Elias was telling us about,” said Foreman’s father.

Foreman is hoping to return to LSU for an official visit in November (for the Alabama game, if it’s allowed by the NCAA). If that visit happens, I think Foreman will 100 percent be a Tiger.

But if that visit doesn’t happen, my confidence drops a lot. I still think LSU would be the favorite, but I’d be at about 65 percent at that point. Foreman enjoyed his “unsanctioned trip” to Georgia as well. I don’t think he’ll be a Bulldog, but it’s never wise to rule out Kirby Smart.
