Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow doesn’t believe in off days.

Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow has already made quite an impression on his new teammates.

Burrow, who was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft, has been lauded by teammates this summer for his leadership abilities.

“I’ve been really impressed with how he’s handling this offense and handling the huddle…It’s as if he’s been here for years,” said Cincinnati offensive lineman Jonah Williams earlier this offseason (via The Athletic).

Not only is Burrow proving to be an exceptional leader during practices, but he’s also already being a leader when he’s not on the clock.

Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow knows how to lead on and off the field

Typically when an NFL player has a day off, they use it to explore the city or spend time with family.

But not Joe Burrow. He uses his off days to get more time in on the field with his teammates.

According to Bengals beat writer Lindsey Patterson, Burrow spent his off day this week working on route running with wide receiver AJ Green.

I’m definitely not surprised by this. Burrow eats, breathes and lives football. It’s quite literally all he does. It consumes him.

And Green is determined to show the NFL that he’s still one of the top wide receivers in the league.

Those two together are capable of great things in 2020. And it’s clear they’re both committed to putting in the time required to be great.

Next. Why LSU should change their recruiting approach. dark

I don’t know what the 2020 season holds for Burrow and Green. But it’s obvious they’re doing all they can to make sure they’re ready for a season that’s certain to be different from any season we’ve seen before.
