2021 LSU football commit Garrett Nussmeier received ratings boost this week.

2021 four-star LSU football commit Garrett Nussmeier received a ratings boost this week.

Nussmeier, who committed to the Tigers in early May, entered the week as the No. 227 overall rated recruit in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings.

In a recent update, Nussmeier moved up the No. 200 overall rated 2021 recruit.

“Very fluid, very whippy, one thing I like about him is he really thrives outside the pocket. When there is some pressure or off schedule stuff he does a great job to manipulate his body or arm to make any throw,” said QB Collective instructor Will Hewlett (via 247Sports).

While the ratings boost is certainly nice to see for Nussmeier, he’s still not where he should be in 247Sports’ rankings.

LSU football commit should be ranked higher in 247Sports’ rankings

Nussmeier’s 247Sports ranking and his 247Sports composite ranking don’t exactly line up.

The LSU commit is rated as the No. 200 overall player in 247Sports’ ratings, but he’s rated as the No. 98 overall player in 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The reason for the discrepancy?

It’s because Nussmeier is rated as the No. 81 overall recruit in Rivals’ recruiting rankings.

For whatever reason, the folks at Rivals are a bit higher on Nussmeier than Rivals.

I have a feeling, though, that 247Sports will change their opinion on Nussmeier. That’s usually how it goes with recruiting rankings.

And even if they don’t, it’s not like LSU’s staff will care. The Tigers are obviously confident in Nussmeier — regardless of his where he’s rated by the recruiting services.

Next. Arik Gilbert should be receiving a lot more hype. dark

LSU currently has 18 players committed to its 2021 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 4 in the nation.
