LSU football is trying to land a four-star 2022 offensive lineman.

LSU football, along with numerous other programs, is hoping they can land a commitment from 2022 four-star offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

Booker, 6-foot-4/290 lbs from Bradenton, FL (IMG Academy), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Florida. He’s also rated as the No. 28 overall 2022 recruit in the nation (which means he’s a borderline five-star recruit).

The massive offensive lineman recently discussed his recruitment with Rivals and pointed out five schools that are standing out for him — Penn State, Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Georgia.

One of those schools likely has the inside track to landing Booker.

The Florida Gators.

Can LSU football overtake the Gators for Booker?

Booker told Rivals that he grew up rooting for Florida, saying “I grew up a Gators fan. I grew up a big Tim Tebow fan. I always liked their intensity. I was a huge Tebow fan so it’s big to be recruited by them.”

But just because Booker grew up cheering for Florida doesn’t mean he’s destined to end up in Gainesville.

Booker had plenty of good things to say about LSU, too.

“LSU is the reigning national champs so you have to give them credit,” said Booker. “I always liked how they continue to develop offensive linemen and defensive linemen. Coach (Orgeron) is a lineman’s coach. He loves his lineman so I appreciate that from the head coach.”

There’s obviously a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but I think the Tigers probably have a pretty good shot at landing the talented offensive tackle.

Next. LSU isn't making excuses. dark

And if LSU does manage to land Booker, it would be a nice little offseason victory over Florida. And those off-the-field wins are always nice.
