LSU Football: Myles Brennan off to historic start as Tigers’ starting QB
By Zach Ragan
LSU football quarterback Myles Brennan is off to a historic start as the Tigers’ starting quarterback.
LSU football quarterback Myles Brennan has waited three years for his turn to start and he’s not wasting time when it comes to setting records.
After Brennan’s first two starts at LSU, the redshirt junior finds himself at the top of the LSU leaderboard in a couple of categories.
According to Todd Politz, LSU Athletic’s director of digital media, Brennan has the most career passing yards (682), completions (50), and touchdown passes (7) by a Tigers quarterback in their first two starts.
For a kid that’s been compared to Tigers legend Joe Burrow all offseason, it has to be nice for Brennan to have already set a couple of records in Baton Rouge.
Myles Brennan is extremely accurate on downfield throws
Part of the reason that Brennan has been able to find so much success through the air over the first two starts of his career is his downfield accuracy.
According to Pro Football Focus, Brennan has the highest passer rating on throws of at least 20 yards.
We’ve always known that Brennan had a big arm. But a big arm without accuracy is essentially useless. The fact that Brennan is able to utilize his big arm to create splash plays is what’s going to help lead the Tigers to some big wins this season and next season.
Look, Brennan isn’t Burrow. And he’s never going to be. But it’s already very apparent that Brennan has the goods to be one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.
I have a feeling it won’t be long before Myles Brennan’s name is talked about in the same sentence as Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
