Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow has the purest soul in the NFL.

With all the success that former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow has had on the gridiron, it would be understandable if he’s full of himself at times.

But that’s not Burrow at all.

After all, this is the kid that stayed in his parents’ basement during the COVID-19 pandemic, instead of finding a luxurious place of his own with his newfound fortune.

While that’s a great example of Burrow’s pureness, it’s not the best example.

Joe Burrow is a true gentleman on the field

There aren’t many things I love more than a good “Mic’d up” segment. I absolutely love hearing athletes being candid in the midst of a game. It’s revealing and entertaining.

I was obviously thrilled when a clip of Burrow Mic’d up surfaced this week.

It did not disappoint.

There were plenty of great lines from Burrow. But I thought the best thing the former Tigers standout had to say came at the very beginning of the clip.

Burrow asked the referee for his name because he didn’t want to call him “Mr. Ref” all day.

After the referee revealed his name, Burrow then simply said “I’m Joe”.

I love that from Burrow. The referee clearly knows Burrow’s name. Anyone who follows the NFL knows the young quarterback’s name.

Burrow, however, isn’t the pretentious type. He doesn’t walk into a room (or onto a field) and expect that everyone already knows him. Burrow still treats people with respect and kindness.

The skill Joe Burrow still needs to learn. dark. Next

Burrow is a fierce competitor on the field. But as a person, he’s as pure as they come.
