LSU football is off to a 1-2 start after Saturday’s loss to the Missouri Tigers.

The LSU football team we’re seeing in 2020 is nowhere near the team we saw in 2019.

And it’s not just because of the results — it’s quite literally a different team.

LSU lost a ridiculous amount of talent from their 2019 national championship-winning squad.

According to ESPN, the Tigers rank No. 127 (out of 130 teams) in returning production this season.

But despite the fact that LSU’s 2020 team is essentially a brand new team, the Tigers are still the defending champs.

And that means LSU is going to get everyone’s best shot in 2020. They’re also going to getting plenty of jabs thrown their way, which was the case after LSU lost to Missouri in Columbia on Saturday.

Shots fired at LSU football from Missouri

Missouri decided to fire up the old Twitter machine on Saturday after their 45-41 win against LSU.

And I have to admit — Mizzou was pretty clever with the tweets.

The first tweet was a photo of a crushed cigar with “Geaux” crossed out and replaced with “Go”.

This is an obvious reference to former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who was photographed numerous times with a cigar after the win against Clemson in the national championship.

Again, I liked how clever Missouri got with that one. I’d give that troll a solid 10 out of 10.

The other tweet was a photo with the caption “Tiger King”.

This tweet was clearly a reference to Missouri and LSU both having a Tiger as their mascot. Not quite as clever, but Missouri still pulled it off pretty well.  I’d give that one a 7 out of 10.

Next. Coach O's regrettable quote. dark

Missouri earned the right to throw some shade at LSU. They had their way with Bo Pelini’s defense.

LSU can expect more of the same this season if they don’t get it together and start winning some games.
