Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow has a Bill Belichick like quality.

We already know that former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow is special.

The confidence that Burrow plays with is not typical. Even in a league dominated by type-A personalities, Burrow still stands out for his ability to be the ultimate alpha male.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Burrow shares a few qualities with one of the greatest head coaches in sports history — New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

The similarities between Burrow and Belichick are something I never noticed until the former Tigers standout spoke to reporters after the Cincinnati Bengals’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Joe Burrow’s responses to questions sound a lot like Bill Belichick’s responses

The Bengals had a 21 point lead on the Colts on Sunday and still managed to lose.

That’s a tough pill for any player to swallow, but it’s especially tough for a quarterback as competitive as Burrow.

After the game, Burrow met with reporters, and the responses he offered sounded a lot like the curt responses we typically hear from Belichick.

Here’s an extensive question asked by a reporter:

Zac Taylor keeps talking about no panic and having positive momentum with this team, but when you have one win in six games, how much do you and your teammates need to see wins to kind of believe that things are trending the right way?

Burrow’s response?

“We’d like to win games.”

That sounds exactly like what Belichick would say to reporters.

Here’s another question from a reporter that got a short, Belichick-like response from Burrow.

What do you guys have to do better in the fourth quarter on last-minute drives, etc. to convert some more opportunities at the end?

“Put the ball in the end zone,” replied Burrow.

I love it. I love how matter of fact Burrow is when it comes to answering these questions. The reporters are doing their job, and they’re asking the right questions, but Burrow has no desire to offer cookie-cutter answers that sound like coach-speak. He’s direct and to the point.

Next. Myles Brennan as good as Joe Burrow?. dark

I wouldn’t expect anything else from a player brimming with confidence like Burrow.
