LSU football quarterback Myles Brennan has missed the Tigers’ last two games due to an injury.

LSU football is off this weekend, before hosting Alabama on November 14.

The bye week comes at a good time for the Tigers. Starting quarterback Myles Brennan, who was on a historic pace to start the season, has missed the Tigers’ last two games due to an abdomen injury he suffered in LSU’s loss to Missouri last month.

The hope was that Brennan would be able to return after the bye in time for the Tigers’ matchup against the Crimson Tide.

However, it doesn’t appear that will be the case.

LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron updates Myles Brennan’s status

Brennan practiced on Wednesday for the first time since his injury and it looks like he still has a steep hill to climb to get healthy.

Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said on weekly radio show on Wednesday night that after watching Brennan practice, he’d consider the redshirt junior “very doubtful”.

“He practiced a little bit. It wasn’t very good,” explained Orgeron (via 247Sports). “We’ll see how much he can practice next week. Right now, I’d have to say he’s very doubtful the way it is.”

With Brennan likely out against Alabama, it means that TJ Finley or Max Johnson will start. Finley started the last two games with Brennan out, but he was pulled out of the loss to Auburn last weekend.

Orgeron said the reps this week will be split evenly between Finley and Johnson.

I’d expect another weekend of two quarterbacks unless one player gets the hot hand.

And based on what we’ve seen over the last two weeks, there’s no telling how that will work out.
