LSU football is hoping to land the nation’s top-rated 2022 running back.

LSU football is in the middle of trying to turn its season around, but that doesn’t mean that recruiting is taking a backseat.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of college football — which is why coaches never take a day off.

Not only are the Tigers working on building their 2021 recruiting class (currently ranked No. 3 in the nation), they’re also working hard on putting together a strong 2022 class.

One of the 2022 players that LSU is hoping to land is 2022 four-star running back Jaydon Blue.

LSU football is one of the programs standing out for Jaydon Blue.

Blue, 5-foot-10/205 lbs from Houston, TX (Klein Cain), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 4 running back in the nation and the No. 9 player in the state of Texas. He’s also rated as the No. 58 overall player in the nation.

247Sports midland region recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks describes Blues as a player who “flashes great initial burst and acceleration” and “hits the hole hard and gets downhill in a hurry”.

Brooks also notes that Blue “shows above average foot quickness in the hole” and is “agile enough to make defenders miss at the second level”.

Blue recently told Rivals that Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas are the teams he’s talking to the most right now.

The Texas native has long had an affinity for LSU, which could give the Tigers a leg up in this recruiting battle.

“LSU, that’s my childhood dream school,” said Blue. “They’ve been shaky, but I think they’ll bounce back by the end of the season to get where they were last year.”

There’s obviously a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but it’s clear that LSU is going to be a major factor for Blue.
