LSU football is one of the programs that’s a serious threat to land an elite 2021 defensive end from Florida.

Four-star defensive end Bryce Langston is one of the top 2021 defensive linemen in the country and LSU football could be on the verge of landing a commitment from him.

Langston, 6-foot-3/250 lbs from Ocala, FL (Vanguard), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 strong-side defensive end in the nation and the No. 20 player in the state of Florida. He’s also rated as the No. 137 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.

The talented defensive lineman recently spoke to Rivals about his recruitment and his upcoming plans.

Langston told Rivals that he plans to commit/announce his decision in February so he can sign with his teammates.

Where does LSU football stand in their pursuit of Bryce Langston?

As for who will land Langston?

The Florida native told Rivals that he’s down to LSU and Florida.

“LSU and Florida are the only schools I am really talking to, and it has been like that for a while,” said Langston.

“If I had to decide right now or soon, it would be a very hard decision,” added Langston. “I am not ready yet. I am not leaning either way right now.”

It sounds like this battle is going to go all the way to signing day. It certainly doesn’t sound like Langston is going to make a decision and then keep it a secret.

The one thing working against the Tigers is that Langston hasn’t been able to take a visit to LSU. He’s also a bit more familiar with Florida.

With the recruiting shutdown extended until April 15, the only chance Langston will have to see Baton Rouge is if he goes to campus on his own (at which point he wouldn’t be allowed to have any contact with anyone from LSU).

The Tigers can still win this battle, but they have their work cut out for them.
