LSU Football: Ed Orgeron makes bold statement that should excite fans
By Zach Ragan
LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron made a bold statement on Monday.
LSU football was the talk of the college football world a year ago.
In 2019, the Tigers had the best offense in the nation. They had the best quarterback and wide receiver in the nation, as well.
Fast forward a year and that quarterback (Joe Burrow) is gone. So is the wide receiver (Ja’Marr Chase, along with Justin Jefferson and Terrace Marshall Jr, too).
The Tigers, unsurprisingly, aren’t playing well this season. LSU is 3-4 and coming off a disappointing loss to the Texas A&M Aggies.
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, however, isn’t letting the tough 2020 season discourage him.
LSU football’s Ed Orgeron believes in the Tigers’ future
The Tigers obviously aren’t going to compete for a national championship in 2020. In any other year, they wouldn’t even be bowl eligible (this year everyone is essentially bowl eligible).
Coach O knows, however, that LSU is capable of competing for championships — they proved it last season.
And he knows they’re going to get back to that point.
“We will be champions again,” said Orgeron on Monday (via 247Sports). “We have things to fix but we will fix it.”
I love this from Orgeron. I love the confidence he’s exuding.
Coach O has proved himself as a head coach. He’s proved he can deliver a national championship.
There should be no doubt that Orgeron will get LSU back to the top of the college football world again.
I know this season has been tough for Tigers fans. But it’s going to get better, thanks to the leadership of Coach O.
