LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron has some jokes up his sleeve.

One of the things that folks love about LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron is how candid he gets with reporters.

There is no coach speak with Orgeron — he’s raw and honest at all times.

Even sometimes when he probably shouldn’t be.

So it should come as no surprise that Coach O had a funny quip on Monday when discussing the Tigers’ upcoming game against Alabama (which is scheduled for Saturday).

LSU football has enough players to play!

Coach O was asked by a reporter on Monday if he feels like LSU is a better team now than when they were originally scheduled to play Alabama (November 14).

Orgeron’s response?

“Yeah. We have enough people to play!”

You gotta love Coach O and his wittiness.

But as far as the game goes, the Tigers may or may not be in better shape than they were a few weeks ago.

Quarterback Myles Brennan still won’t be playing. Wide receiver Racey McMath is likely out. And wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr just opted out of the 2020 season.

On the flip side, however, LSU’s defense is playing much better over the last couple of weeks.

In fact, Orgeron said on Monday that he felt like the Tigers’ defensive performance against Texas A&M this past weekend was their best defensive performance of the year (despite the loss).

“I think our defense played their best game of the whole year,” said Orgeron.

While it’s encouraging that LSU’s defense is finding its groove, I doubt it will help much this weekend against Alabama.

Next. Ed Orgeron should make a Nick Saban-like move. dark

The Crimson Tide’s offense is likely the best in the nation. And they’re showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
