LSU Football: Tigers should pursue elite 2021 inside linebacker

LSU football has one of the top 2021 recruiting classes in the nation.
LSU football currently has one of the top 2021 recruiting classes in the nation.
According to 247Sports, the Tigers’ 2021 recruiting class is ranked No. 3 in the nation.
That’s thanks to commitments from players like five-star safety Sage Ryan and four-star outside linebacker Raesjon Davis.
But what if I told you the Tigers’ class could add a talented linebacker that wasn’t available prior to Monday?
LSU football needs to pursue one of the top 2021 linebackers in the nation.
2021 five-star linebacker Terrence Lewis committed to Tennessee in late April, leading to a lot of trash talk from Vol fans.
On Monday, Lewis announced his de-commitment from UT (via Twitter).
“There’s no love lost they’re (Tennessee) still my top school as of now but I need these next couple weeks to explore my options to make sure I make the best decision for my future,” wrote Lewis in a tweet.
Lewis, 6-foot-1/200 lbs from Opa Locka, FL (Miami Central), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 inside linebacker in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Florida. He’s also rated as the No. 17 overall player in the nation.
This is a player the Tigers need to immediately be calling.
Lewis is an elite inside linebacker. He’s a guy that has the potential to play on Sundays. Lewis would absolutely thrive under Bo Pelini.
LSU might be down this season, but they’re on the verge of putting together an incredibly impressive 2021 recruiting class.
Adding Lewis to the mix would only make that class more impressive. The Tigers need to find a way to become a major factor for Lewis.
