LSU Football: 6 options to replace Bo Pelini as Tigers’ defensive coordinator
By Zach Ragan
6. Brad White — Kentucky defensive coordinator
The Kentucky Wildcats aren’t the doormat of the SEC East like they used to be.
And that’s mostly thanks to a defensive unit that’s strong on an annual basis.
Brad White was named the Wildcats’ defensive coordinator in 2019 and immediately made an impact.
According to Kentucky’s official website, in 2019 the Wildcats did not allow more than 30 points in a regular-season game for the first time since 1979. Kentucky’s defense was ranked No. 13 in the nation in 2019, too.
White also has NFL experience (with the Indianapolis Colts), which is something that Coach O seems to like in his assistants (Joe Brady, Scott Linehan, etc).
The next step up the coaching ladder for White is likely a job at a more prestigious program.
LSU would absolutely be his best option if he chooses to leave Lexington.
