LSU football is among the top programs for an elite 2022 offensive lineman.

2022 four-star offensive lineman Qae’shon Sapp revealed his top ten schools on Christmas day and LSU football made the cut.

According to 247Sports, Sapp’s top ten includes the Tigers, along with Alabama, Kentucky, Florida State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.

Sapp, 6-foot-5/310 lbs from Leesburg, GA (Lee County), hasn’t been rated yet by 247Sports.

Rivals, however, clearly thinks highly of the Georgia native, as they have him rated as the No. 7 offensive guard in the nation and the No. 29 overall 2022 player in the state of Georgia.

LSU football will have plenty of competition for Sapp

There’s obviously a long way to go in Sapp’s recruitment, but it appears the Tigers already have some ground to make up if they hope to land the elite offensive lineman.

Sapp pointed out several programs to 247Sports that he’s built a good relationship with and LSU wasn’t one of the schools he mentioned.

“Schools like Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida I have a great bond with,” said the Georgia native.

“But I’m still gonna keep my recruitment open to others,” added Sapp.

Steve Wiltfong, who covers recruiting for 247Sports, noted that Sapp has been on campus at Auburn and Tennessee. Wiltfong also says UT and Georgia Tech are the programs currently pushing the hardest for Sapp.

The talented offensive lineman told Rivals in September that he was planning on visiting LSU before COVID-19 shut down recruiting.

If that trip is able to happen next year, it could completely change the outlook of Sapp’s recruitment.
