LSU football could be the program to beat for a transfer offensive lineman.

You can never have too many offensive linemen and no one knows that better than LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron.

Coach O may be a defensive line coach at heart, but he knows the importance of quality players in the trenches — regardless of which side of the ball they’re playing.

LSU, like most programs. will be taking a look at potential transfers this winter.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Tigers add at least one offensive lineman from the transfer portal.

Another Harvard transfer for LSU football

Last spring, LSU landed Harvard offensive lineman Liam Shanahan — one of the hot names in the transfer portal.

Shanahan, a Massachusetts native, wasn’t rated by 247Sports during the recruiting process. But he played well at Harvard, which earned him a shot at LSU.

This past week, Shanahan announced that he intends to return to Baton Rouge for his final year of eligibility.

And there’s a good chance he could be joined by a former teammate.

Eric Wilson, a former three-star recruit, is a Harvard offensive guard that’s looking for a new home as a graduate transfer.

Wilson looked like he was destined to end up at Auburn, but those plans changed when Gus Malzahn was fired.

Rivals reported this week that Wilson isn’t currently committed to any program.

I think that bodes well for the Tigers.

It would make sense for Wilson to join his former teammate at LSU. However, Wilson has until this spring to decide where he’ll spend the 2021 season.

Ultimately, I think this is a battle that LSU will win.
