LSU football is hoping to land one of the top 2021 recruits in the nation.

2021 five-star offensive lineman Tristan Leigh is set to announce his college decision this weekend and LSU football could be the program he chooses.

Leigh, 6-foot-5/270 lbs from Fairfax, VA (Robinson Secondary), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 4 offensive tackle in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 11 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.

The Virginia native will announce his decision on Saturday (January 2) at 2:00 PM CT at the All American Bowl: Declaration Day.

Will the Tigers be the pick?

LSU football has stiff competition for Tristan Leigh

It appears to be a three-way race for Leigh’s commitment.

Florida, LSU, and Oklahoma are the three programs that are thought to be the leaders for Leigh (though Clemson and Ohio State could also be in the mix).

The Gators are making a strong run late for Leigh. There’s definitely a chance that Florida ends up landing the talented offensive lineman.

But I don’t think that’s going to be the case. In fact, I think Oklahoma is LSU’s main competition.

I could certainly see the Sooners stealing Leigh. But if I had to bet, I’d wager that LSU will land a commitment from Leigh — which would give a huge boost to an already strong 2021 Tigers recruiting class.

Of course, nothing is ever certain in recruiting. It’s possible that Leigh changes his mind at the last moment before signing (we’ve certainly seen that before).

But for now, I’ve got the Tigers landing Leigh on Saturday.
