Former LSU football wide receiver Jarvis Landry will be available for the Cleveland Browns this week.
Former LSU football wide receiver Jarvis Landry wasn’t available for the Cleveland Browns last week in their matchup against the New York Jets.
Landry was one of several players placed on the COVID-19 list.
The former Tigers standout was on the COVID-19 list because he was a “high-risk close contact”.
It appears that everything checked out okay for Landry, as he was activated off the COVID-19 list on Thursday.
Getting Jarvis Landry back will be big for the Browns
Cleveland is battling for a playoff spot this week, so it’s certainly important that they have as many players available as possible. Landry is key, especially with Odell Beckham Jr out for the season.
Unfortunately for the Browns, though, they had to close their practice facility on Thursday due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests. Cleveland’s facility was also closed on Wednesday.
For now, the Browns’ game this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers is still on as scheduled. Cleveland needs to win the game to secure a playoff berth.
The Browns haven’t made the playoffs in 17 years, so it goes without saying that this is the biggest game for the franchise in the last 17 years.
It’s an understatement to say that this season has been strange. Every team has had to face the same battle with COVID-19. It’s quite an accomplishment that these games have been able to be played this season.
And the Browns are hoping they can get one more final regular-season game in.
Oh and maybe a few playoff games, too.
