LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron is looking to a familiar face for advice.

LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron is looking to an appropriate source for advice on who the Tigers’ next offensive coordinator should be.

The Athletic’s Brody Miller reported on Monday (via Twitter) that Coach O has been talking to former LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady “throughout this process”.

Orgeron has reportedly consulted with Brady on potential candidates for the Tigers’ offensive coordinator and passing game coordinator vacancy.

That’s likely the reason that Carolina Panthers quarterbacks coach Jake Peetz and Panthers offensive analyst DJ Mangas will be interviewed this week.

If Orgeron is going to look for advice from someone, Brady would certainly be the first person that deserves a phone call.

Joe Brady still cares about LSU football’s success

Brady may have only spent one season in Baton Rouge, but it’s clear he still cares about the future success of LSU.

(As he should — his time at LSU is what made him a household name.)

If Peetz and Brady end up joining Orgeron’s staff, it will mean that Brady is losing two quality assistants in the NFL.

But Brady isn’t doing what’s best for him in this situation. He’s doing what’s best for LSU. He’s also doing what’s best for Peetz and Mangas (landing at LSU could elevate both of them to stardom, much like what happened with Brady).

I think this says a lot about Brady’s character and his loyalty.

Brady might not be at LSU anymore — and he’ll likely never return in an official capacity — but it’s clear that LSU will always be a part of who he is.
