David Reeves — UAB defensive coordinator

David Reeves could be an interesting under-the-radar hire for the Tigers.

Reeves immediately made an impact on UAB’s defense in 2017 when the program was restarted after a brief hiatus.

In 2017, UAB had a top 50 defense. They’ve had a top 10 defense every year since 2017.

Impressive work by Reeves.

So what about his background?

Reeves came to UAB in 2014 after bouncing around the college and high school game for a while. He was a graduate assistant at Alabama from 2005-06. He’s also spent time at UT-Martin and Jacksonville State.

This probably wouldn’t be a celebrated hire, but I think LSU’s defense would perform at a higher level with Reeves in charge.
