Kevin Steele — Former Auburn defensive coordinator

While we’re talking about familiar faces, we might as well mention Kevin Steele, since he’s officially available now.

Steele left LSU after the 2015 season under some strange circumstances. He received more money at Auburn, but one of the main reasons he left was because of former athletic director Joe Alleva.

I’m not sure how Steele’s return would be welcomed by fans, but there’s denying he’s a quality defensive coordinator who has a lot of experience.

Steele and Orgeron also appear to have a good working relationship (they were together at LSU in 2015), which makes me think this is an option that will at least be considered.

I wouldn’t count on Steele to LSU happening, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Orgeron explores this avenue just to cover all his bases.
