Glen Schumann — Georgia co-defensive coordinator

This is one of my favorite options, but it would be a longshot to actually happen.

Schumann is a tremendous recruiter who is absolutely trying to climb the coaching ranks.

The Texas native attended Alabama and spent the first seven years of his coaching career in Tuscaloosa as an off-the-field assistant.

Schumann left Alabama in 2016 with Kirby Smart and joined the Bulldogs’ staff as an inside linebackers coach. He was promoted to co-defensive coordinator in 2019.

Everyone knows, however, that Georgia’s defense is led by Smart and Dan Lanning.

I imagine Schumman wants to continue climbing the coaching ladder, so it would make sense for him to leave Georgia so he can be “the guy” somewhere.

LSU would be a perfect fit.

This a hire that would be fresh and exciting. But I’m not sure if this is a path Orgeron will try to take.
