LSU football is among the top schools for an elite 2022 five-star defensive tackle.

Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy tweeted his top 11 schools this week and included LSU, along with Florida, USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas A&M, USF, and Clemson.

Brownlow-Dindy, 6-foot-3/275 lbs from Lakeland, FL (Lakeland), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Florida.

He’s also rated as the No. 16 overall 2022 recruit in the nation.

What kind of chance does LSU Football have in this recruiting battle?

Brownlow-Dindy is obviously a player that LSU would love to land.

The Florida native is described by 247Sports southeast recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins as a “mauling tackler with the grip strength to corral ball carriers”.

Ivins also notes that Brownlow-Dindy is a “coordinated athlete that doesn’t lose his balance or bearing easily” and he “understands how to bend and use leverage”.

For now, it appears that Oklahoma is the team to beat for Brownlow-Dindy, though he told 247Sports this week that he doesn’t currently have a leader.

“There isn’t a team I would single out and say I have the best relationship with,” said Brownlow-Dindy. “There are a lot of teams coming after me and getting personal”.

The dynamic defensive end is planning to sign in December, which means the Tigers have plenty of time to win him over.

You can never count out Ed Orgeron and LSU when it comes to elite defensive linemen, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tigers end up becoming a major factor in this recruiting battle.

LSU currently has seven players committed to its 2022 recruiting class.
