LSU Football: Tigers offer in-state 2023 linebacker
By Zach Ragan
LSU football extended an offer this week to 2023 linebacker Jaiden Ausberry.
According to 247Sports, the Tigers offered Ausberry on Monday.
The offer from LSU is his second. Ausberry’s first offer was from Mississippi State this past November.
Ausberry, 6-foot/180 lbs from Baton Rouge, LA (University Lab), hasn’t been rated yet by the major recruiting services.
Some family competition for LSU football recruiting target?
Jaiden Ausberry isn’t the only talented football player in his family. His older brother, Austin, is also a talented player receiving interest from colleges.
Austin Ausberry, 6-foot-1/185 lbs, is a 2022 cornerback. He hasn’t been rated by the major recruiting services.
The elder Ausberry has five reported offers — Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, South Alabama, Tulane, and Virginia.
Notice anything missing?
One brother has an offer from the hometown Tigers and the other doesn’t.
If that’s not a reason to be motivated, I don’t know what is.
Austin Ausberry is clearly a talented player — otherwise, he wouldn’t have two Power-5 scholarship offers.
But he obviously hasn’t done quite enough yet to earn an offer from LSU. Perhaps that will change this season.
I can’t imagine a better scenario for a pair of brothers from Baton Rouge than to end up playing for LSU one day.
Jaiden Ausberry has the opportunity. I’d love to see Austin Ausberry follow in his little brother’s footsteps and receive an offer from the Tigers.
LSU currently has eight players committed to its 2022 recruiting class (which is ranked No. 3 in the nation). The Tigers don’t have any players committed yet to its 2023 recruiting class (which is normal for programs, it’s still a bit early).
