Everyone knows someone like former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow.

You know, the person that is seemingly great at everything they do.

And loved by everyone for it.

It’s maddening, right?

Well, sometimes. But not in the case of Burrow, who is genuinely an awesome guy.

The former LSU football star is just a good dude

Burrow is a household name after leading LSU to a historic 15-0 season (complete with a national championship) in 2019. He’s also one of the NFL’s brightest young stars.

It would be understandable if some of that success went to Burrow’s head.

But it hasn’t. Not one bit.

Burrow is still the same guy that he was when he transferred to LSU. The same guy who signed with Ohio State. The same guy from high school.

Genuine. Caring. Dependable.

That’s who Burrow is as a person.

And we saw a great example of that on Friday night.

Burrow was one of the few people in the crowd for Dayton’s home matchup against George Mason.

That’s not the basketball game you’d expect to see a superstar like Burrow attending.

But there was a good reason that Burrow was there. He was supporting Dayton’s Ibi Watson — his former teammate at Athens High School.

Watson and Burrow played together for two seasons at Athens. And they’ve remained close over the years.

I think this speaks volumes about Burrow as a person. You don’t see many high-profile athletes like Burrow supporting their not-nearly-as-famous friends this way.

Burrow, however, hasn’t been changed by fame. He’s still the hard-working, loyal kid from Athens that is great at everything he does.

And that includes being great at being a friend.

Strong endorsement for Daronte Jones. dark. Next

Never change, Joe Burrow. You’re doing things the right way.
