Cincinnati Bengals receive good news on Joe Burrow
By Zach Ragan
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow, who was the No. 1 selection in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, was on pace for an impressive rookie season.
Unfortunately for Burrow and the Bengals, (and football fans in general), a devastating knee injury ended the rookie’s season prematurely.
In 10 games last season, Burrow passed for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Burrow was on pace to pass for 4,300 yards, 20 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
Not bad for a quarterback playing behind the worst offensive line in the NFL.
While we didn’t get to see Burrow finish his rookie season, we at least saw the potential he has in the NFL.
There’s no doubting his abilities. The real question now is whether or not Burrow will be ready for the 2021 season.
Will Joe Burrow be ready to go for the 2021 season?
Anyone who has followed Burrow’s career up to this point should know that he’s one of the most competitive people on the planet. It doesn’t matter if it’s table tennis or football — Burrow wants to win.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Burrow is attacking his rehab with that same fervor.
According to a report from the Cincinnati Enquirer, Burrow is set to resume running this week, which is exactly 10 weeks from his surgery (that took place December 2).
That’s great news for the Bengals because it gives Burrow around seven months to get ready to play.
At this point, I can’t see any way that Burrow isn’t ready to go when the 2021 season kicks off. He’s putting in the work and he’s not taking any shortcuts. No one wants to return to the field more than Joe Burrow.
Bengals fans should be extremely excited. They might just have the next Tom Brady on the roster.
And I’m not just saying that because of his physical talent, but because of the way he approaches every day of his life.
