Former NFL WR likes Joe Burrow over Lamar Jackson
By Zach Ragan
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow proved in his rookie season that he was worth the hype that surrounded him before the 2020 NFL Draft.
Burrow only played in 10 games in 2020 — thanks to a torn ACL that ended his season prematurely — but he was extremely impressive in those 10 games.
The former Tiger was on pace for 4,300 passing yards when his season abruptly ended.
While we didn’t get to see a full season of Burrow, we saw enough to know that he’s a future star in the NFL.
But how big of a star will he be?
Former NFL WR prefers Joe Burrow over Lamar Jackson
Former NFL wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh played for four teams in his career, including the Cincinnati Bengals for eight seasons and the Baltimore Ravens for one season.
It’s safe to say that Houshmandzadeh has seen a lot of great quarterback play over the years.
So when he discusses current quarterbacks and who he thinks will be good for a long time in the NFL, it’s probably worth listening to him.
Houshmandzadeh recently spoke with The Enquirer about Burrow and he made it clear where he stands on the young quarterback and his future.
“People will say Lamar Jackson is the best,” said Burrow. “I’m talking five years from now. I think Joe Burrow will be the best quarterback.”
“It’s his instincts, his savviness in the pocket that I believe is gonna separate him in the years that come.”
Burrow still has a lot to prove. He’s only played 10 games in the NFL. But it’s obvious that folks close to the game view him as an elite talent who could one day be looked upon as the “best quarterback in the league”.
