LSU football could be adding a couple of Baton Rouge natives to its 2022 recruiting class according to some recent predictions from 247Sports writer Sonny Shipp.

Shipp recently updated some “crystal ball” predictions for the Tigers and he has LSU landing three-star offensive guard Emery Jones four-star running back Le’Veon Moss.

Both recruits are from Baton Rouge, but they attend different high schools.

Jones goes to Catholic High School, while Moss attends Istrouma High School.

Will these predictions come true for LSU football?

Predictions are ultimately meaningless, though they’re fun to debate.

So what are the chances that these predictions come true?

Shipp actually put different confidence levels on each recruit. He’s more confident in Jones, giving it a confidence level of “8” of happening.

“Emery Jones is scheduled to announce his commitment in March, and sources tell Geaux247 the Tigers are in great shape,” wrote Shipp.

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Texas A&M are also in the mix.

Shipp isn’t quite as confident in Moss, though he still feels like he will ultimately end up at LSU. He gives Moss to LSU a confidence level of “6”.

“Running back is the deepest position in Louisiana, with three of the state’s top 10 prospects playing in the backfield,” said Shipp. “LSU has offered all three, but Moss was first to land the offer. Moss spoke highly of how much the offer meant at the time, and I see Kevin Faulk keeping the talented Baton Rouge prospect close to home.”

It’s always nice to keep elite in-state talent at home. And it sounds like the Tigers are well on their way to doing that with the 2022 recruiting class.
