LSU football has one of the best football facilities in the nation according to 247Sports.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports ranked the top 25 college football facilities in the nation this week and he has the Tigers at No. 7.

The only programs above LSU on his list are Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Alabama, Oregon, and Clemson.

LSU recently completed renovations/upgrades of its football ops building.

Crawford noted the Tigers’ “futuristic locker room” and  “customizable player pods” as one of the reasons LSU is so high on this list. Crawford also mentioned that a portion of the upgrades were paid for via a donation from former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu.

LSU Football is a premier destination for college football players

Once you get into the top 10 or 15 of these rankings, it’s fairly subjective. All of the programs near the top of this list have exceptional facilities — there isn’t much that separates LSU at No. 6 and Clemson at No. 1.

Everything LSU does is elite. From the coaching staff, to the nutrition department, to the locker room. There’s a reason the nation’s top-rated recruits nearly always have LSU on their list of potential destinations.

The great facilities at LSU are another reason why this recruiting shutdown has been so harmful to the Tigers’ recruiting efforts.

Building relationships through Zoom sessions is great. And LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is great at building those relationships. But the facilities at LSU can be the difference in a player committing to the Tigers or committing somewhere else.

Thanks to the recruiting shutdown (which was recently extended through May 31), most of the key 2022 recruits haven’t been able to see LSU’s pristine football facilities in person.

Hopefully, that changes soon, as the nation appears to be finally on its way back to “normal”.
