Option 3: Cam Cameron — Former Miami Dolphins head coach/former LSU offensive coordinator

If LSU gets this far down the list, it’ll be clear they’re desperate.

On paper, Cameron could make some sense as an interim head coach for one year. He worked at LSU for four seasons and he has head coaching experience in the NFL. And he’s available (Cameron hasn’t coached since 2016).

But let’s not forget that Cameron was fired by Orgeron at LSU in 2016 (after Les Miles was fired). And let’s also not forget that a Hall of Famer gave his opinion on Cameron in 2017 and it wasn’t very flattering.

“Cam was an idiot,” said former Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor in 2017 (via the Miami Herald). “I have no idea how he got the job. I’ve never been around a more incompetent head coach than Cam Cameron. I’m talking youth football, college. It was unbelievable.”

Let’s make sure to keep Cameron away from Baton Rouge.
