LSU Football: Tigers are one of the top schools for 3-star LB

LSU football is one of the schools that’s “standing out” for three-star linebacker EJ Lightsey.
Lightsey, 6-foot-2/210 lbs from Fitzgerald, GA (Fitzgerald), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 22 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 54 player in Georgia.
The talented linebacker isn’t a highly rated player, but you wouldn’t be able to tell that from his offer list.
Lightsey has offers from Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Virginia Tech, among several others.

Lightsey recently spoke to 247Sports about his recruitment and his upcoming visits.
And he made it clear that LSU is near the top of his list.
“I don’t have one leader,” said Lightsey. “I got Florida standing out, FSU standing out, and LSU.”
Lightsey said he’s always been a fan of the Tigers, which could help in LSU’s pursuit of the coveted linebacker.
“I have always been a fan of LSU,” explained Lightsey. “You can tell, with Coach Orgeron, he is special. When I got on the phone with him, it’s just a different type of feeling from Coach O. Me and him are seeing eye-to-eye on that front.”
Lightsey hasn’t decided yet if he will take an official visit to LSU. He told 247Sports that he’s still deciding between Auburn and LSU (he’s currently scheduled to take official visits to Florida State, Florida, and Georgia Tech, while Georgia will also likely receive an official visit).
The Georgia native doesn’t have a set commitment date.
