It’s hard not to like former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow.

It’s especially hard if you’re one of his teammates.

Burrow is an elite leader who gets the best out of those around him. He inspires others to play to their full potential.

So it’s no surprise that one of Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals absolutely gushed over the former Heisman Trophy winner this week.

Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd showers Joe Burrow with praise

Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd and Burrow hooked up last season for 79 receptions and 841 yards.

Earlier this week, Boyd spoke to reporters and showered Burrow with praise.

“Nothing average about Joe,” said Boyd (via Bengals.com). “He’s going to lead us to the promised land.”

Boyd isn’t worried about Burrow’s recovery from a torn ACL suffered last season, either.

“Joe looks great,” added Boyd. “He looks like he’s ready to play a game right now. I’m not worried about Joe. He makes magic when his number’s called.”

Burrow surprisingly participated in Cincinnati’s minicamp this week and was at “85 percent”.

The Bengals put some rules in place to help protect Burrow. No one is allowed to run anywhere close to the franchise quarterback — Cincinnati isn’t risking a setback to Burrow.

Burrow is hoping to play in some preseason games this fall, though I’m sure the Bengals will carefully monitor his usage. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the team decide to hold Burrow out of preseason action in an abundance of caution.

The former LSU standout is going to be good to go when the season gets underway. He doesn’t need the extra preseason reps to get going — he’ll be ready.
