LSU Football: Top 10 2022 recruit has Tigers in his final 4
By Zach Ragan
One of the top ten rated players in the 2022 recruiting class has LSU football among his final four schools.
Five-star defensive back Denver Harris, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Houston, TX (North Shore), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 player in Texas.
He’s also rated as the No. 6 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.
Harris has a final four of Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, and LSU.
Can LSU football land Denver Harris?
Harris is expected to announce his commitment in September, which means LSU only has a few months to convince the elite cornerback to bring his talents to Louisiana.
Rochell Harris, Denver’s mother, is obviously playing a big role in this recruiting battle.
And she’s a fan of LSU.
“I love LSU, it’s in Baton Rouge and they produce great DBs,” said Rochell to 247Sports this week.
Rochell is also a fan of the other programs in Denver’s final four, which means this is going to be an intense recruiting battle over the next couple of months.
If the Tigers manage to land Harris, they’ll be getting one of the most competitive high school players in the nation.
“He hates a guy catching a pass on him,” said coach Theadis Reagins to 247Sports. “He’s that competitive. He feels if a guy catches a pass that’s a loss to him…He does a great job to not let anyone catch a ball on him. That’s how competitive he is.”
“He doesn’t want to be second place in anything. He always wants to be first,” added Reagins.
LSU currently has 13 players committed to its 2022 recruiting class, including four-star cornerback Laterrance Welch.
