LSU football is among six programs still in the mix for 2022 five-star athlete Keon Sabb.

Sabb tweeted his top six on Tuesday evening and he included LSU, along with Clemson, Oregon, Penn State, Georgia, and Texas A&M.

The IMG Academy standout is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 athlete in the country and the No. 4 player in Florida.

Sabb is also rated as the No. 19 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

Can LSU Football land Keon Sabb?

Sabb will most likely end up playing safety in college, which bodes well for the Tigers’ chances of landing the dynamic athlete (LSU’s reputation as “DBU” should help).

After revealing his top six schools on Tuesday, Sabb spoke to Rivals about his recruitment.

The 6-foot-2 recruit told Rivals he plans on committing after taking visits.

Sabb doesn’t currently have a visit scheduled to LSU this summer, but he plans on visiting Baton Rouge during the season.

The Tigers are hoping that an in-season visit — instead of a visit this summer — could turn the tide in the fight for Sabb.

Also working in the Tigers’ favor is Sabb’s relationship with new LSU defensive coordinator Daronte Jones

Jones has built a strong relationship with Sabb over the last couple of months.

“Coach Jones, the defensive coordinator, I’ve built a very strong relationship with him,” said Sabb to Rivals. “He’s shown me how I’ll be used in their defense, how the safeties are a big thing in their defense, and how easy it is to make plays in their defense.”

Rivals national recruiting analyst Adam Friedman says Clemson, Georgia, and LSU are the programs to watch in this battle.
