2022 four-star linebacker CJ Washington has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since last July, but that isn’t stopping LSU Football from strongly pursuing the talented recruit.

Washington, 6-foot-1/215 lbs from Cedartown, GA (Cedartown), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 4 linebacker in the country and the No. 15 player in Georgia.

Tigers linebackers coach Blake Baker has been working Washington hard in recent weeks.

And it appears to be paying off.

Could LSU football flip CJ Washington from Georgia?

Washington recently took an official visit to LSU and it went extremely well.

“Better than I expected really,” said Washington to 247Sports while discussing his visit. “Most definitely better than the pictures and what people talk about.”

So does this mean the Tigers have a legitimate shot to land the talented linebacker?

The answer is yes.

“LSU is most definitely on the list and I’m still going to be open minded,” said Washington to 247Sports. “As I told Georgia, I’m going to take visits since COVID shut me down.”

“I’m kinda glad I didn’t shut it down completely because then I wouldn’t have gotten that experience of LSU,” added Washington.

This basically sounds like Washington is “loosely” committed to Georgia. He clearly hasn’t made a final decision. And LSU, along with Kentucky, is squarely in the mix to land the four-star recruit.

Washington said he plans to take an official visit to Kentucky. And he’s also planning to visit LSU again this fall for a game.

It’s certainly possible that Washington will honor his commitment to the Bulldogs, but I also wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he flips to LSU and signs with the Tigers.
