LSU football is working hard to flip a Notre Dame commit.

2022 three-star athlete Amorion Walker has been committed to the Fighting Irish since early March, but the Tigers are hoping to keep the talented recruit home in Louisiana.

Walker, 6-foot-3/178 lbs from Ponchatoula, LA (Ponchatoula), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 65 athlete in the country and the No. 35 player in Louisiana.

The talented 2022 recruit visited LSU twice this week, finally receiving an offer from the Tigers. He also recently received an offer from Alabama.

Will LSU football flip Walker from Notre Dame?

When Walker committed to Notre Dame in March, he didn’t have an offer from LSU. There’s no doubt that the recent offer from the Tigers will have Walker reconsidering his options.

But will it be enough to flip Walker from the Irish?

(It’s worth noting that when Walker committed to Notre Dame over Mississippi State, where his father was a tight end, it was a bit of a surprise.)

It’s a bit early to say for sure. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walker, at the very least, reopen his recruitment in the coming weeks.

When the hometown program offers, you have to at least listen (especially when it’s a storied program like LSU).

Walker committed to Notre Dame as a wide receiver, but 247Sports reported this week that he’s being recruited to the Tigers as an athlete (he’s worked out at both wide receiver and safety).

Next. 247Sports misses the mark with Coach O. dark

My gut tells me that LSU will end up flipping Walker. But we’ll have to see how the numbers work out in the Tigers’ 2022 recruiting class. LSU currently has 11 players committed to its 2022 recruiting class, with several top targets still left on their board.
