LSU football is viewed as the likely college destination for 2022 four-star running back TreVonte’ Citizen according to 247Sports.

Shea Dixon, who covers the Tigers for 247Sports, made a “Crystal Ball” prediction for Citizen on Friday and he has LSU landing the talented in-state running back.

“I made the move to put in a Crystal Ball prediction on the Tigers with a confidence level of 7,” wrote Dixon.

“It’s clear Citizen has become a big priority for Ed Orgeron and Co.,” added the 247Sports writer.

TreVonte’ Citizen is a must get player for LSU football

Citizen, 6-foot/217 lbs from Lake Charles, LA (Lake Charles College Prep), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 running back in the country and the No. 9 player in Louisiana. He’s also rated as the No. 143 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

LSU doesn’t currently have a running back committed to its 2022 recruiting class. One of their perceived top targets — four-star in-state running back Le’veon Moss — committed to Alabama in early June.

(Moss, who is from Baton Rouge, is ranked as the No. 6 running back in the country and the No. 5 player in Louisiana.)

Watching one elite running back leave the state is bad enough for LSU. There’s no way they can let Citizen slip away, too.

Fortunately, it sounds like the Tigers are expected to land Louisiana native and add their first running back commit of the 2022 recruiting cycle.

LSU is battling Auburn, Texas, and Texas A&M for Citizen’s commitment. While we certainly can’t rule out one of those programs stealing Citizen from the Tigers, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where that happens.
