Former LSU football standouts Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are quickly picking up where they left off in Baton Rouge two years ago.

Burrow, who was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, was reunited with Chase during the offseason. Cincinnati selected Chase with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The duo last played together in 2019 during the Tigers’ incredible 15-0 season.

During that season, Burrow passed for 5,671 yards and 55 touchdowns.

And Chase was one of Burrow’s favorite targets. The stud wide receiver caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase put on a show for Bengals fans

Bengals fans got a chance to see Burrow and Chase in person on Saturday during an open practice session.

And the former Tigers stars put on a show.

Burrow and Chase hooked up several times, drawing loud cheers from the fans in attendance.

Burrow was one of the main reasons Cincinnati drafted Chase (instead of a much-needed offensive lineman). The Bengals quarterback vouched for Chase during the pre-draft process.

While Burrow’s recommendation isn’t the only reason the Bengals drafted Chase (he was a top-five talent regardless of Burrow’s recommendation), it certainly helped. The Bengals drafted Chase because they believe he can be a game-changing talent for the franchise.

So far, it appears Cincinnati was right. Chase is proving to be a hard worker who has unreal chemistry with one of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL.

Burrow and Chase still have to prove they do it on Sundays when it counts, but I have a hard time believing this won’t be one of the top quarterback/wide receiver duos in the NFL for years to come.
