LSU football quarterback Myles Brennan, a redshirt senior, may never play for the Tigers again.

Brennan suffered a catastrophic arm injury that required surgery on Tuesday.

For now, there’s no timetable for Brennan’s return.

With Brennan out indefinitely, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron officially named Max Johnson as LSU’s starting quarterback in 2021.

Myles Brennan’s response to injury is amazing

I don’t think anyone would fault Brennan for deciding to put an end to his college career after suffering his devastating arm injury.

Brennan’s career at LSU hasn’t gone as planned, but there’s no doubt he has the talent to play in the NFL. He could easily choose to rehab his injury and focus on reaching the NFL in 2022.

But that’s not how Brennan is wired.

According to Orgeron, the first concern Brennan and his family had immediately after the injury was the young quarterback’s timetable for return.

Brennan wants to compete at LSU. He wants to finish his career as a Tiger.

“The first thing that Myles’ family, such a competitor, first thing they wanted to know is eligibility left, what is the timeline for him to come back,” said Orgeron during an interview with 104.5 in Baton Rouge on Tuesday (via 247Sports). “When can he compete to come back and finish his career at LSU? You got to appreciate that.”

Myles Brennan is a true warrior who loves LSU. And even though his career with the Tigers has had plenty of bumps and detours, he’s still a player that should hold a special place in the hearts of LSU fans.

Hopefully, Brennan can recover and enjoy a long career in the NFL. He most certainly deserves it.
