LSU football is one of only four programs still in the mix to land one of the nation’s most sought-after 2022 recruits.

Five-star receiver Evan Stewart recently discussed his recruitment with Rivals. The talented wide receiver is down to four schools: Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Texas.

And for now, he doesn’t have a leader.

“It’s really an even playing field right now. Nobody is in the lead right now,” said Stewart. “I’m going to circle back around to (those) schools.”

Stewart, 6-foot/175 lbs from Frisco, TX (Liberty), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 wide receiver in the country and the No. 5 player in Texas. He’s also rated as the No. 23 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

Will LSU football land Evan Stewart?

It’s still much too early to tell where Stewart will land. The visits he takes this fall will be key.

LSU, however, is definitely a legitimate threat to land the stud wideout.

Stewart, who was committed to Texas at one point, will likely end up being the top wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class. And LSU is well-known for developing wide receivers — especially in recent years. I could see this battle coming down between Alabama and LSU.

There’s a possibility that Stewart could commit before his senior season (which would indicate a commitment in the next month). But I don’t expect that to be the case. I think this battle will go down to the very end.

Stewart is a player that has the potential to be a top 10 NFL Draft selection, which is why the Tigers need to go all out in their pursuit.
