1. LSU vs Ole Miss — October 23 (Oxford)

If you take a look at LSU’s 2021 schedule, there are three games I could see the Tigers losing that wouldn’t be viewed as bad losses.

  • October 16 vs Florida
  • November 6 @ Alabama
  • November 27 vs Texas A&M

Those games could truly go either way. LSU could lose all three, or they could sweep them. But let’s assume the Tigers lose all three. As long as they win the other games on their schedule, they could still finish with a nine-win season (10 counting a bowl win).

That’s more than doable.

The Ole Miss game, however, stands as a potential stumbling block.

Sure, the Tigers beat the Rebels 53-48 last season. But that means nothing in 2021.

The Ole Miss offense is going to take a step forward in 2021 under Lane Kiffin. It will be among the best offenses in the nation. The Tigers are going to have to step their game up from last season to beat the Rebels this year.

Again, LSU is the more talented team. So they should win this matchup. But if they lose this game, it’s hard to imagine LSU finishing with 9 or 10 wins in 2021.
