LSU Football will kick off the 2021 season in just over a week when they travel west to take on the UCLA Bruins on September 4.

With the season about to start, it means there are plenty of predictions floating around the internet.

A group of writers that cover the Tigers for 247Sports made their season predictions this week for  LSU. Three of the writers have the Tigers finishing 10-2, while the fourth writer has LSU finishing 9-3.

From 247Sports:

"LSU has the talent to beat almost every team on their schedule, but as we all know at this point, it takes more than talent to win games in the SEC. I’ve said it before, but I believe the defense will set a very high floor for this team, but it’s up to the offense to take the Tigers to 10+ wins."

Is this a fair prediction for LSU football in 2021?

This seems more than fair for LSU this season.

For starters, no one knows what to truly expect from the Tigers in 2021. 247Sports is correct that LSU has the talent to win every game on its schedule. But at the same time, this team is less than a year removed from losing to Mississippi State and Missouri.

While there’s no doubt that LSU has improved tremendously since last season (culture, talent, and coaching), they still have to go out there and actually prove it.

As far as the schedule goes, there really aren’t any automatic losses there for the Tigers.

Alabama will obviously be favored against LSU, but that’s still a game the Tigers could win.

Texas A&M, Florida, and Ole Miss will be tough matchups, too.

But if LSU can go 2-2 in those four games, they should cruise to 10 wins.

We’ll know more after we see how the Tigers look against UCLA on September 4. But for now, I feel pretty good about LSU’s chances of winning 10 games in 2021.
