If you take a look at NFL rosters, you’ll see a lot of LSU football players.

(In the 2020 NFL Draft, 14 former Tigers were drafted.)

So who would be the top four LSU players ever? Who would be the guys on the Tigers’ Mount Rushmore?

Rivals national recruiting columnist Mike Farrell (yes the guy who picked LSU to lose to UCLA on Saturday night in Pasadena) picked his four former Tigers this week that would be on LSU’s Mount Rushmore.

And I actually agree with him.

LSU Football’s Mount Rushmore

Farrell picked a quarterback, two defensive backs, and a defensive lineman for his LSU Mount Rushmore.

Here are his picks:

  • Joe Burrow — Quarterback
  • Patrick Peterson — Defensive Back
  • Tyrann Mathieu — Defensive Back
  • Glenn Dorsey — Defensive Lineman

I think Farrell nailed this. Before I read his choices, I made my own choices. And believe it or not, I picked the exact same four players.

Though I did consider a couple of other players. I think a strong argument can be made for running back Kevin Faulk, who is now an assistant coach on Ed Orgeron’s LSU staff.

Another strong option would’ve been running back Leonard Fournette. His 2015 season is the best ever for an LSU running back.

I also think Ja’Marr Chase would’ve had a legitimate shot at being one of the four names if he would’ve played in 2020.

Next. LSU hit up Arch Manning at midnight. dark

Speaking of wide receivers, it wouldn’t surprise me if we’re talking about wide receiver Kayshon Boutte being in the discussion in a couple of years. Boutte had a great true freshman season in 2020. And he has a stable of elite quarterbacks in Baton Rouge (Max Johnson, Garrett Nussmeier, and in 2022 Walker Howard) to catch passes from for the next couple of years.
