LSU football appeared to get back on track this past week with a 49-21 win against Central Michigan.
Beating a solid Central Michigan team by 28 points after “struggling” against McNeese State is certainly a step in the right direction for LSU.
The Tigers, however, still have a lot to prove after a season-opening loss to the UCLA Bruins.
LSU’s matchup with Mississippi State in Starkville on Saturday will provide the Tigers with a great opportunity to prove that the loss to the Bruins to open the season was just a small speedbump.

The moneyline from WynnBet has LSU at -130 and Mississippi State at +110. The over/under for the game is set at 56 with the over at -105 and the under at -115.

This is admittedly a tough one to predict.
Mississippi State shocked LSU last season in Baton Rouge, handing the Tigers an early-season loss.
This year, however, the Tigers should be more prepared for Mike Leach’s air raid offense.
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron told reporters this week that losing to the Bulldogs last season was “embarrassing”.
It’s clear the Tigers will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. And they won’t be caught off guard this time by Mississippi State’s offense.
I’d take LSU on the money line, and I think the Tigers will cover, too.
As for the over/under, I’d definitely take the over in this game. Mississippi State’s offense hasn’t exploded this season, but LSU’s defense has had issues. I could see the Tigers giving up some points to the Bulldogs in this one. Likewise, I expect Mississippi State’s defense to give up plenty of points to LSU. A final score in the neighborhood of 38-31 seems likely.
