LSU Football head coach Ed Orgeron is the captain of a sinking ship right now.

The only problem for Orgeron is that the Tigers football program is an unsinkable ship — LSU will eventually find a new captain and hit the open waters again.

There’s little hope at this point that Orgeron will be able to right the ship.

That’s because Orgeron is lost as a head coach.

He’s searching for answers. Grasping for anything that might help LSU win some games.

Ed Orgeron is taking suggestions from the media to help LSU football win games?

Coach O might have hit rock bottom on Monday.

Here’s why.

A reporter made a coaching suggestion to Orgeron, to which Coach O responded “that’s not a bad idea”.

You absolutely cannot make this up.

Here’s what went down.

A reporter asked if former LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, who retired after the 2020 season and now serves as a “consultant” for the Tigers, could be used in the coaching box to help current offensive coordinator Jake Peetz with play calls.

I honestly cannot believe we’re at a point where Orgeron is saying “that’s a good idea” to coaching suggestions from media members.

Nothing against any media members — it’s just that none of us writing about LSU football are getting paid millions of dollars a year to beat SEC teams.

You’d think that Orgeron would’ve already looked at this thing from all angles. It’s obvious that Peetz is struggling because he’s a first-time offensive coordinator. The fact that Orgeron hadn’t considered the idea that he could use some help until a reporter mentioned it is baffling.

Next. Coaching change is likely for LSU. dark

Orgeron is struggling right now. He needs to get it together quickly, or his “dream job” will soon turn into his “former job”.
